Free app hosting that does not expire and needs no credit card
Three things decide whether a free hosting plan is really free: it does not expire, it does not ask for a card, and it does not delete your database. Here is how to check a plan for all three, and what Uppcoder's free plan gives you.
Three questions to ask any free plan
Before you build on a free plan, check its own pricing page for these:
- Does it expire? Some free plans end after a trial period, or when a credit runs out.
- Does it need a card? Many ask for one "to verify", and charge when you go over a limit.
- Does the database stay? Some keep the app but delete a free database after a few weeks.
How common plans answer them
From each provider's own page, checked on 31 October 2026:
- Vercel Hobby: free, no expiry; for personal, non-commercial use only, and no database in the plan (vercel.com/docs/plans/hobby).
- Render: free web services; a free PostgreSQL database expires after 30 days and is deleted 14 days later (render.com/docs/free).
- Railway: a trial of up to 30 days with $5 of credit, then $1 of credit a month (Railway's free trial docs).
- Fly.io: no free plan for new organisations; a trial of up to 2 machine hours or 7 days, then a credit card (docs.fly.io).
- Uppcoder Spark: no expiry, no card, the database kept and backed up every night.
What you get on Uppcoder's free plan
The free plan (Spark) runs one app with one database. No card needed, and no time limit: if we ever change or end it, you hear from us by email at least 60 days before.
- One app with one database: 2 GB of memory and 2 GB of disk
- PostgreSQL, MySQL or MariaDB, kept for as long as the app is, not deleted after a set number of days
- Backed up every night to a separate server, the free plan included
- Its own HTTPS address from the first minute; Private or Public with one switch
- VS Code in the browser and a terminal next to the app, or SSH from your own editor

Sign up at portal.uppcoder.com, then Billing, Available Plans, Spark, Start free (confirm your email first). Stacks, Create, Blank stack: pick a framework, add a database, Deploy. Or describe the app and let the AI builder start it. The Django and FastAPI guides go through it step by step.
- Uppcoder/django-postgresql-starter on GitHub: a small Django project on PostgreSQL, settings from the environment, the HTTPS-proxy settings already set.
- Uppcoder/fastapi-postgresql-starter on GitHub: a small FastAPI notes API on PostgreSQL, DATABASE_URL from the environment.
Free that stays free: no expiry, no card, and your database still there.
